kinda curious. apparently my girlfriend has no issues with this. we have a long distance relationship and i just found out that this happens on her end. no silly business, but...it kinda took me by surprise a bit. i've had very little history with being around people...so i'm not sure if this is normal. [and i'm talking beyond interaction between roommates] she also said she wouldn't mind if i hung out with a topless female pal on my possess. which, i'd have no interest in doing...but i'm just finding it every a bit bizarre. but again...i've been a bit of a recluse my whole life so maybe i'm a bit inexperienced with this stuff. not to mention, earlier she found out that her male pal took a nude photograph of himself...keep in mind, they take a photography course together so the photo MAY have been tasteful...but she didn't look it in the classroom...the topic came up when talking and she asked him to look it because she 'wanted to look if he was bluffing about taking it'. i found this a bit toooo inappropriate...i don't really think she needs to know how big her pal's privates are just for giggles. then she got mad that i made a 'big deal' out of it. [ i've noticed that a 'big deal' to her means taking more than a minute to accept something] should i tolerate this sort of thing? she's british and i'm american, if that helps...i know they have a more relaxed culture with this sort of thing.

I did a photography installation and shot 10 people nude. I thought about the theme and laid them out every on one photoshop document. I've had many compliments, saying this looks absolutely professional and everyone loves the theme. I apologize for disturbing you with such questions, but I think that picking your brain would be vital to my development. I have done only one pin-up/boudoir shoot in my time of doing photography (which has not been that long) but I didn't feel too pressured with it because I was seeing the lady that I was shooting at the time so, it took alot of pressure off me. But now I have started to receive some traction with my photography and people have started to call. My biggest photoshoot to date is coming up soon in Jan. My pal is asking me to shoot her in Maxim and 50's style pinups, some of which will call for her to be basically naked. We've have already had an "receive it every out on the table" discussion about our expectations and the type of shots we wanted to shoot, plus shots we've seen that we would like to try to re-create. She basically WANTS to be nude. So herein lies my questions: How do I make this a comfortable shoot for her, let alone me? Cause we both can talk tough, but how can I help her receive over the nudity part (if she even needs the help)? I feel more pressure because this is a different situation, I am not seeing this girl. I am nervous about it, not so much about her being naked as opposed to me knowing her for a long time and really feeling the pressure of needing to do a great job for her. This is what I have suggested to her so far to help her be comfortable : 1) Bring a female pal to help her with wardrobe changes and hair styling 2) Bring music that she likes 3) Since we are going to shoot on the go and maybe a few in my studio, try to find some place that is warm Thank You In Advance, Also if you have information on how a release form should look and sound, that would be great. I will be starting to do Glamour, Boudoir, and Nude Photography which puts me in an interesting spot because some of my clients will only want me to place certain photos on my site with their written consent. Granted, I do not mind at every about this since I will not be selling the prints and only use them for advertising but most of the model releases I have state clearly that they give up every rights and I can basically can do whatever I want with the photos. I'm interested in human anatomy, so I've been working on nude photography. When photographing a minor (my pal's son who is 12 years old) I had him wear a disposable diaper to cover his private parts so we wouldn't break any laws. I still am able to receive the anatomy and the muscle movement below the flesh, which is what nude photography is really about. Painting or Photography? Some painters say photography is the cheaters way, but wouldn't photography be more real though? Let's go back to the 1800s where nudity in photography was greatly criticized, people looked at a painting of a nude person, they didn't think anything of it, cause it's not like there was an actual nude person, it's just a fake person, but they looked at a nude photo and were appauled because an actual person was there physically naked. So I must ask, which do you think is more "real" in your opinion? before anybody corrects me, I know that some painters will actually require a real person to pose nude for drawings, I'm just saying that back then, a lot of painters didn't have a nude person posing for them, they just made up an imaginary model.

So I recently did a semi nude photoshoot with this one girl. It was a learning experience and it turned out to be fun at the same time. It helped that I knew the girl for a long time before the shoot. So I knew I could trust her and she could trust me. I did make her sign the release form. But here is my question: I often hear people say, "make the subj sign the waiver, that helps protect you in case she comes back at you later." But that works basically when it concerns where and how the pictures will be portrayed. So what actually protects you from the subj accusing you of something you KNOW you didn't? Just knowing that the law favors the word of women as opposed men a lil more, I was just wondering how other photographers may protect themselves from that possibility or do they even think about it at every? I am going to school for Photography and I have my first college photography class in 2 weeks. I have already put together the beginning of a portfolio... seeing as I have not narrowed it down to one area of photography I have a little bit of everything, design, abstract, nature, animals, architecture, photoshopped, non photoshopped. The only thing I am really missing are portraits so I want to have my first photoshoot (I am the proud owner of a new DSLR... I have a pal who has modeled for several other art projects who would be willing to be my model... i have another pal who likes to assist on photoshoots and I have a pal who I go to school with that does make up and hair... the last one wants to be a stylist as a career ... seeing as I dont have money maybe I should offer her copies of the photos for a portfolio?... I want to create an artistic nude photo the problem is (well beside lighting and other technical details) I dont know how to sylize everyone. The whole concept of this shoot is human sexuality where i show a man in the middle of a literal crisis. Does he pick a lady or man? Behind that other man is another man and same goes for lady. Portrayal has to be artistic non-pornographic so i plan to shoot every the models sideways/ profile except for the main guy, where he is actually frontal. With no "pro" experience in this whatsoever, I have occasionally photographed my wife with a digital camera where she's wearing lingerie. The pictures are safely hidden on password protected flash drives and are only for us. My question is this, I have no idea what I'm doing other than to snap the best picture I can at a given moment, and she usually poses in a simple manner with little direction from me. When I do try to pose her, she says that my idea of what looks good is different than hers. Also, the sessions are usually only around 10 minutes give or a take, because she only seems comfortable doing them for about that long. So what can I do to make her look good in the photos and make her glad and comfortable? And what can I do to encourage her to have longer photo sessions with more than just a couple outfits? She seems to be comfortable about taking the pictures when they start, but she needs to be "charmed" into starting the session. I think that's because she weighs more than her wedding weight and she's more conscious of her body, so she's more reluctant to start the session and will only go through a short session. Any ideas for warming her up to the idea of starting a shoot (and continuing the shoot longer and keeping her glad during the shoot)? Also, any ideas for warming her up to the idea of a nude or partially nude shoot would be welcome too. We did that once when we were both soused, but I'd like to do it without the alcohol. So I am fairly new to modeling for photographs. I have been working as a figure model(that is when you pose nude for painters, sculptors, sketch artists) for a while and created an online profile at Model Mayhem to show potential artists who want to hire me what my figure is like, how my body looks in different light, and the way I pose. Now I'm getting offers from lots of photographers which is great. I have done some nude work and I like posing nude for artsy, conceptual photos but not anything that could be considered pornographic. I have stayed away from lingerie style shoots so far because I'm afraid of being involved in something that could potentially look really trashy. But I just got a casting offer from FHM Magazine. First of every this really surprised me because I don't think I have the nice of body that the girls they put in their magazine do. Also I don't know if this is a good move...most of the work I have done so far is non commercial and will stay relatively unseen by the public outside of the photography world. But a major men's magazine? I actually think their shoots are really classy and beautiful and they're not nude, just lingerie...I'm on the fence. When we and my man were just friends, he did photography a little bit. Most of his clients were strippers, every of them women. During the time he was dating someone else and I do know that he messed with one of his clients after doing a nude session. Well we are together years later and he is having money issues, so he wants to tug out the old trusty camera and receive back into photography for strippers, because they are quicker and easier money. I dont feel comfortable with it knowing what I know, he tells me to trust him but it is difficult. I remember him telling me how easy it is to receive them to take their clothes off and how turned on they receive when doing a session that way. He tells me I need to trust him and that I can be with him while he does it. I dont want to be invloved in this crap. He used to do security as a part time gig, he doesnt want to do it no more because it requires long hours of standing in the elements.
